The Joy of Playfulness
I was sitting there watching the dogs just chill out.
Just when I thought he was settling in for a nap…
Dogs and children often remind us to not take things so seriously all the time and initiate play.
In what ways can you initiate play this week?
Giving Yourself Permission for Joy
This thought came to me this morning in the shower.
One of the 4 P’s holding us back from joyful experiences is “permission”.
Somewhere in our socialization, we’ve been imprinted with the idea that certain conditions need to happen before we can have or deserve joy and happiness. Maybe it’s that promotion, fancy car, a boyfriend, close a big account, someone to watch a movie with us, a vacation, or a special occasion.
Are you waiting for something or someone to happen before you allow yourself to experience joy?

It’s an “if…then…” mindset that limits what is possible.
What if for just a moment, maybe it’s for 1 minute or 10 minutes, or 60 minutes or 90 minutes, that you suspended all the conditions you believe have priority over your happiness and became fully present.
What if you gave yourself a break like you give others. What if this was your last day on Earth?
Things in life can be totally f’d up, but remember, in this very moment, you do have a choice to open the door and invite joy into your life.
Knock knock…
