The Joy of Home-Cooked Meals

I remember growing up, my mom would make all this delicious Vietnamese food, and all I wanted was McDonald’s and Pizza Hut.

Now as an adult, I constantly crave authentic home-cooked Vietnamese food.

The last 3 days have been nothing short of culinary heaven. My talented and joyful aunt has been preparing all these delicious dishes Bo Kho, Bahn Xeo, Che, Cahn Chua Ca, Bun Bo Hue.

In many ways experiencing food I grew up really grounds me on multiple levels as I have been on the road for 8 weeks now for this #JoyfulLivingProject

What food fills your belly and soul with joy?

Today I leave my 11th home in 8 weeks to head to Tuscon to speak at a conference.

Though I have been so blessed with the gift of so many wonderful homes on this 18-month #JoyfulLivingProject journey across America, this most recent one was extra special.

Connecting with my aunt and her family for the first time in 40 years was priceless. We shared home cooked meals together every night I was here as well as laughter and conversations.

Growing up I always thought we had a small family, but discovering these new branches of our family Tree has filled my heart with such joy.
