The Joy of Space for Yourself

I use to think that joy was about surrounding myself a bunch of people, doing lots of things and being in the middle of the action.

I remember there were many Friday and Saturday nights that I stayed at home with a serious case of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) and lamenting what a loser I was that I was by myself while others were out partying.

As I have gotten older, I have come to realize that I am actually more of an introvert and enjoy my time and space. Sometimes I actually find relief when plans cancel and I have the entire day or evening to myself… JOMO (Joy Of Missing Out)!

When I have quiet time, I find that it actually recharges and grounds me. This brings me joy.

I found this fun graphic that is quite relatable. How about you?

Though it may be challenging for some people, I actually love going to eat by myself. I get to enjoy what I want as much as I want and as quick or slow as I want. One of my favorite dates I like to take myself on is a sushi meal.
