The Joy of Play
When was the last time you just let loose and played like a child?
This past weekend, my dear friend Jennifer Gibbings came to visit me in Sausalito, California. We went on an epic 12-mile hike up the mountain and down to the beach. On our way back, we saw a small child’s tricycle in the middle of our path. No children were around to claim it. What did we do?
We accepted the invitation for joy! My friend hopped on while I took pictures of our joyful moment. No inhibitions, no worries—just laughter, silliness, and play. Despite all the gorgeous views and deep conversations we enjoyed during our hike, our joyful play was the most memorable part of the day.
If you’d like more joy this week, I invite you to let your inner child come out and play.
